My brother's birthday is in 43 minutes, so I have to stay up until at least then to call him. For those that don't know, I look up to my brother with complete admiration. He has taught me so much throughout my life. He is one of the few people in life that I can really relate to. He gets me. We think in the same way, we have a similar sense of humor, mannerisms, etc. and often get told that we are so much alike. To me, that is the greatest compliment in the world. I'm proud to be like him. He is always there for me, regardless, and I respect him as a person. He is the type of person that I would love to hang out with, even if he wasn't my brother. When I am with him, he makes me laugh, and often provokes me to broaden my horizons and think about things in a different way. Not many people are as lucky as me to have a brother like that, and I am very thankful.
chapter 2, begin anew.
tomorrow also marks a historic day. The first Black president ever. Not only that, but in my opinion one of the most intelligent, inspiring, and level-headed presidents we've ever had. I believe that he easily has the chance to go down as one of the greatest presidents in history. Now is a pivotal time for America, as well as for the world. God, Buddha, Allah, Jah, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, xwede, Abraxas, Tengri, Yahwey, Jehovah, Elohim, Ra, Osiris, Ormazd, The Flying Spaghetti Monster, Zeus, Athena, Jupiter, Ek Onkar, or whichever deity you ascribe to bless him... and that same deity or plurality of deities bless America!
chapter 3, more ramblings from me.
Today I read the book the art of kissing (actually the sequel to the book, called the art of kissing questions and answers... i think). Lots of interesting stuff, and a good read. I could drop random interesting tidbits throughout, but I'll just put a few out there:
53% of women prefer a clean shaven guy to kiss
33% prefer a guy who has stubble.
86% of people experience a first romantic kiss in their early or mid-teens
about 50% of people think it's okay to kiss on a first date
the term french kiss came into the english language around 1923 as a slur
on french culture, which was thought to be overly concerned with sex.
the french call a condom une capote anglaise (an english hood/bonnet)
in france it is called a soul kiss or a tongue kiss
about 78% of men and 84% of women like to bite or be bitten during a kiss.
66 percent of people keep their eyes closed when they kiss
etc. etc. you get the point. the next book I am starting is a book on the alexander technique. If you don't know what that is, it's difficult to explain, especially in a little blog entry like this, so google it or pick up a book about it... it may just change your life :p
